On July 9, 2021 Naxos released Double Echo-New Guitar Concertos from the Americas, a disc that includes concertos written for David Tanenbaum by Aaron Jay Kernis and Roberto Sierra. Also on the disc is the Double Concerto for guitar and bandoneon by Astor Piazzolla, as well as first recordings of two smaller works of Aaron Jay Kernis, his Soliloquy for solo guitar, written for David Tanenbaum’s 60th birthday, and Kernis’ arrangement of his own piano piece Lullaby for violin and guitar.
Bonus tracks available to stream only are the two movements of Village Music by Dušan Bogdanovic, also dedicated to Tanenbaum.

On March 12, 2021 New Focus records in New York released As She Sings, a recording of five works written for David Tanenbaum over a 44 year span, from his father Elias Tanenbaum’s solo piece Music for Guitar (1972) to Sérgio Assad’s Shadows and Light (2016). In between the disc includes Games (2002) by Dušan Bogdanovi? for mezzo soprano, guitar, flute, bass and 2 percussion players on ceramic gongs; Five Pieces for Guitar and Live Electronics (2007) by Ronald Bruce Smith, and the title track, As She Sings (1999), by John Anthony Lennon.
